We're looking forward to participate in the upcoming Flourish! Conference (9-10 September) which is once again set to be a highlight of the year.
Flourish! is the official Annual Conference of the South African Organisation Development (SAODN) Networkand presenters include Clem Sunter, Debbie Blackburn, Sonja Blignaut, Lee Kingma, Mias de Klerk and SLI's Manie Bosman. The conference will be held at Itundla Lodge just outside Pretoria.
The theme of Manie's presentation will be "A Brain New World: Neuroscience Enters the Workplace" and will focus on how new insight from neuroscientific research can be applied in organizations. This will include a brief introduction to social neuroscience and the primary driving forces of the brain (threat and reward). Manie will encourage participants to embrace the new insight from neuroscience in their training and leadership development programs. An example of the practical application of social neuroscience is through neuroleadership - by being mindful of how their behaviour can have a positive or negative impact on the brains of their followers, leaders can improve their impact and the overall performance of the people they lead.
To make this presentation more interesting and interactive, Petro Janse Van Vuuren of PlayingMantis will facilitate three short Applied Improvisation sessions to emphasize and illustrate key points.
